- Can you tell us about your role at Wezesha and what excites you most about your work? As a program officer at Wezesha, my role involves overseeing day-to-day program activities while ensuring alignment with program goals and addressing achievements, challenges, and opportunities. I also maintain relationships with program stakeholders, monitor program adoption, analyze client feedback, and facilitate data-driven decision-making. I also support continuous program improvement and innovation in collaboration with stakeholders. What excites me most is seeing how technology empowers the healthcare sector and communities to improve the quality of services provided in health facilities and decision-making processes by policymakers. It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness the tangible impact of our programs on people’s lives.
- What inspired you to join Wezesha and work in the field of digital feedback platforms? I was inspired by the potential of digital feedback platforms to transform healthcare delivery, especially in underserved areas.Joining Wezesha allowed me to combine my expertise in public health and clinical practice to address systemic challenges and bridge gaps in healthcare access and quality.
- How do you feel your work contributes to Wezesha’s mission of empowering citizens and improving healthcare? Through initiatives like Afya Maoni, I help the empowerment process between government and citizens to engage in feedback mechanisms and data-driven decision-making actively. This aligns directly with Wezesha’s mission to empower and connect citizens and government to transform public services through digital engagement platforms and ensuring that healthcare systems are more responsive to community needs.
- What advice would you give to someone looking to make a difference in public service or digital feedback platforms? Start with understanding the challenges on the ground. Collaboration is a key partner with communities, healthcare workers, and policymakers. Lastly, stay committed to continuous learning.
- Who or what inspires you in your work? I’m inspired by the dedication of healthcare workers in the field. Their ability to deliver quality care, often under challenging conditions, motivates me to create solutions that make their work easier and more impactful.
- What do you like to do outside of work to stay energized? Outside of work, I enjoy being on the road traveling to new places, seeing new places, and connecting with new people excites me and renews my mind.
